These are the people I’m most passionate and experienced at serving

  • People who experience ADHD and related issues

Does your mind race and make you feel overwhelmed? Do you struggle with motivation, organization, emotional self-regulation? Does something feel off and you just can’t quite put your finger on what it is?

I coach and counsel people with or without an ADHD diagnosis to manage their symptoms and turn their struggles into strategies.

Let’s find out how I can help you thrive with ADHD

  • Teens and Young People

Do you feel disconnected? Angry? Sad? Anxious? Unmotivated? Lost?

I work with teens and millennials who are struggling to know who they are, what they want, and where they want to go.

Let’s work together to help you find meaning and purpose.

  • People wanting more emotional stability and resilience after traumatic experiences

Are your emotional up’s and down’s disrupting your life? Are you feeling more anxious, depressed, not like your normal self? Do you find your self stuck in patterns that counselling in the past has not helped you move past?

Using somatic therapy, I support people of all ages who are struggling with their emotions due to low stress tolerance, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), trauma, lack of support and emotional skills.

Let’s uncover your inner calm, safety, and resilience.

What you can expect from

working with me

SOMATIC

Body-based techniques are on the cutting edge in health and well-being. Through these techniques, you will develop more resilience, improve emotional and stress regulation, and improve coping mechanisms.

HOLISTIC

This means that all parts of what makes you you are valued: your thoughts, emotions, physiology, culture, belief systems and philosophy, family of origin, self-care habits etc. This is not one-size fits all therapy. This is therapy that meets you exactly where you are and adapts as you feel better.

RESULTS YOU CAN FEEL

Ultimately, my goal is to help you create practical, positive change in your life from the get-go. You can expect to leave our first session with at least 1 new tool to support you with feeling less stress and feeling more in control of your inner experience.

IN-PERSON

Meet me at my office in downtown Powell River at 4699 Marine Ave.

WALK AND TALK

I meet clients at Millennium Trail near downtown Powell River for nature-based, walk and talk therapy.

Why it works

You are so much more than the sum of your parts

When our work together takes into account all the different sides of you – emotional, mental, somatic (physiological), cultural, intuitive, spiritual – we will see that the whole of you is much bigger than the collection your individual struggles. In this way, counselling offers you a zoomed-out perspective. And we will likely find that feeling better involves creating a holistic strategy that addresses your many sides.

Equally, my services support zooming in, identifying the roots of your problems. In my role as a counsellor, I see myself as a crux-finder; guiding us as a therapeutic team towards the most important and meaningful growth possibilities so that you can start feeling better today.

Past clients have appreciated my direct but gentle approach and the way we neither wasted time nor pushed forward too soon.

You can expect me to meet you where you are yet also challenge you to leave behind the old and stale ways of being that no longer serve you.

Nice work! You made it all the way to the bottom of the page. You may noticied that I’ve been using this word somatic to describe what I do and I want to share a bit about that. The word somatic means that I provide counselling that incorporates the experiences of the body into the process of therapy. We use the body as a guide and tool for creating positive change in your life. While I believe body-based counselling can be useful for most people looking to address most issues, somatic therapy is particularly effective at healing chronic stress patterns, especially those created by traumatic experiences.

I am passionate and eternally curious about mental health and well-being as I’ve spent the decade refining and expanding my skills as a counsellor. I’m fuelled by those moments in my practice when the light of inspiration turns on in clients as they encounter new parts of themselves, learn to accept who they are, and step into their own power with greater ease.
